The Unique Katahdin Breed

We proudly raise Katahdin Hair Sheep, the only sheep bred in North America specifically for high-quality meat in humid climates like ours. These hardy sheep thrive on our pastures, naturally adapting to the land and requiring minimal intervention beyond the care and protection provided by our shepherds and guard dogs.

Pasture-raised, naturally hardy, and full of flavor

Pasture-Raised
with Natural Practices

At Sequatchie Cove, we mimic nature by feeding our sheep only the native grasses and shrubs that grow in the area. Each day, the sheep are rotated to fresh pastures alongside our cattle, enriching both the land and the quality of the meat, while avoiding any growth hormones, antibiotics, or feedlot confinement.
