A Cumberland Folk School workshop located here on the farm.
In this workshop, participants will explore traditional bookmaking techniques in the construction
of a journal.
The skills covered in this workshop are related to traditional non-adhesive bindings, and students
will be able to adapt the technique in their own studio. This particular book style has a
wraparound cover with an exposed sewn spine. Participants will leave with their own hand-bound book.
Provided Materials:
acid free interior papers
linen thread
heavy card stock cover
Provided by instructor:
all necessary tools and supplies
Available for purchase:
leather, additional paper and thread for making additional books
Provided by students:
Personal decorative papers as desired.
Saturday November 4th 9:30-2:30 Central Time Zone with a lunch break. Lunch provided by the folk school.
